Here’s what people & pilots had to say about Cub Nuts 2006:

Jeff Lockling

“We couldn’t get our Cub’s started but we had a ball … I flew all the way from Texas to be here for Cub Nuts. Wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else today.”

Don Pesznecker

“Outstanding, from the sea of yellow, very large and very small all participating at one field.

This was a fly-in of a different sort. A huge crowd, all with smiles. I can hardly wait for next year’s event. For sure I will be flying in that one.”

Terry Criswell, President Dusters R/C Club

“The guys all said it was a great event. Sure wish I’d have been there!”

Larry Powell

“I drove five hours today to see this. It was all worth it when you towed up the TG-8 with the Super Cub!!!”

Dan Lurvey

“Most fun I’ve had at a fun-fly this year. A lot of Cubs and some really great prizes.”

Doss Knighten

“Having those six full scale Pipers do a low slow fly by nose to tail was just fantastic.”

Curt Coleman

“Thanks and congratulations for a job well done!

As a model airplane hobbyist of 60 years, the first Cub Nuts sits at the top of the list of all the contests and fun fly’s I have attended.  That list includes the NATS, as well as un-countable local sailplane and regional R/C events.  None of these, (recognizing their often larger attendance and greater number of logistical details), come close to equaling the plane fun (pun intended) of Cub Nuts.

You have much to be proud of:  The flying events, the music, the food, the variety of Cub-like planes of all sizes, the food, the prizes, the food, the innovator-pilot-builders who took part, the ultra-light that visited, the food, and the full sized Cub fly-by’s.

Did I mention the food?  Not even the NATS I attended could claim that level of support – good eats – and we didn’t even have to cook it ourselves – thanks to volunteers.

The prizes were donated by the best R/C airplane and equipment providers and manufacturers in the industry.  They were to drool for!”
